At the heart of the Alps and just 200m from the pretty village of Chantemerle,
the Hameau du Rocher Blanc is a small group of six high quality, 4-storey chalet-style residences divided into
79 apartments in the popular Serre Chevalier area. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the fresh air, sample the
local wines, cured meats and cheeses, this area is truly astounding in Summer, and the valley below is perfect
for climbers, cyclists and runners. The timeless surroundings offer a warm welcome and are the venue for the multitude
of activities on offer.
There are there are several different types of apartments here;
1 BEDROOM APARTMENTS (24)
Sleeping 2-4 people, these apartments cover an area of approx. 33/38m²
with a living room with single sofabed and stowaway single bed and a separate double bedroom. The kitchenette has
a ceramic hob, oven or microwave and dishwasher and there is a shower/bathroom. Outside is a terrace or balcony
which has been furnished with table and chairs.
2 BEDROOM APARTMENTS (36/36X)
These apartments are sometimes split-level and sleep 2-6 people.
They are approx. 50/55m² with a living room with single sofabed and stowaway single bed. There are two separate
bedrooms, one with double bed and second bedroom with twin beds. The kitchenette has a ceramic hob, oven or microwave
and dishwasher and there are two shower/bathrooms. Outside is a terrace or balcony which has been furnished with
table and chairs.
Facilities include an indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room (€8 / session or €39 for 7 sessions, 1 free sauna
or steam room session is offered per apartment, per week), WiFi, pool table (payable), gym, television and free
parking. Cots and high chairs for children up to 2 are offered free of charge (subject to availability - state
at time of booking). The spa will be open from 26 June until 28
August.
Serre Chevalier is a constellation of 13 authentic mountain villages in a thoroughly Alpine environment, set at
the entrance to the Ecrins National Park and sitting in the heart of the unspoilt beauty of the Oisans. Chantemerle
at 1350m is one of the prettiest villages in the area with a good selection of mini supermarkets, restaurants,
bars, nightlife and a fitness centre. You really feel like you are in the heart of the Alps here. The timeless
surroundings offer a warm welcome and are the venue for a multitude of activities, including cycling, hiking and
mountain biking. The more adventurous can try white water rafting, climbing, mountain biking and adventure parks,
whilst those who enjoy more gentle alpine sports and activities can walk, swim, indulge in some horse riding or
just relaxing in the fresh air and stunning surroundings.
In Chantemerle, children's activities include the Jungle Parc which is an adventure park for children from 4 years
old and offers 26 games in the trees and a great playground (minimum height 1.05m), trampolining, swimming pool
with water slide, roller Skating and even bouncy castles!
There are mountain biking events in June and the Merrell Sky Trail Running event in July, featuring various trails
for serious runners, walkers and even children can take part, with especially designed routes.
In Monetier-les-Bains, one of the Serre Chevalier villages, there are excellent spa facilities with both indoor
and outdoor pools. These offer the opportunity to relax and, in the Health and Beauty institute, enjoy massage,
facials, treatments, etc. Museums relating the history of the area, from Romans through to present day. There are
also guided tours of many of the local areas of interest.
Linen is not included in the price of the rental, but can be hired for a small extra charge - see prices below.
