Set among a landscape of heather and broom bushes on the Crozon peninsula
and offering stunning views over the ocean, Le Hameau de Peemor Pen in Morgat is the ideal base from which to explore
this lovely area. Just 900m from the resort centre and 1km from the beach, the four star Le Hameau de Peemor Pen
is a group of 94 terraced holiday homes built in the local Breton style of architecture and set in a landscaped
park.
There are several different types of houses here;
1 BEDROOM HOLIDAY HOME (M.4)
Sleeping 2-4 people, these houses cover an area of approx. 32/34m²
with a living room with double sofabed and a separate double bedroom. The kitchenette has a ceramic hob, mircowave/grill
and dishwasher. There is a shower or bathroom. Outside is a terrace furnished with table and chairs and a small
garden area.
2 BEDROOM SPLIT-LEVEL HOLIDAY HOME (M.6X)
These houses are split-level and sleep 2-6 people. They are approx.
43m² and on the ground floor is a living room with double sofabed double sofabed, a kitchenette with ceramic
hob, mircowave/grill and dishwasher. The terrace which has been furnished with a table and chairs, and the small
garden area. Upstairs are two separate bedrooms each sleeping two people and a shower or bathroom.
3 BEDROOM SPLIT LEVEL HOLIDAY HOME (M.8X)
These houses are split-level covering an area of approximately 53/67m2
and sleep 2-8 people. The ground floor comprises the living room with double sofabed, a kitchenette with ceramic
hob, mircowave/grill and dishwasher, and a separate double bedroom. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, each
sleeping 2 people and a shower or bathroom. Outside is the terrace which has been furnished with a table and chairs,
and a small garden area.
Facilities include a swimming pool with removable cover, sauna and steam room (€8 / session or €39 for 7 sessions,
1 free sauna or steam room session is offered per apartment, per week), childrens play area, bike storage area
and free parking. Cots and high chairs for children up to 2 are offered free of charge (subject to availability
- state at time of booking). During French school holidays, the Residence also offers a bakery service.
Morgat was originally a fishing village which these days is an elegant small town. Just down the hill from Crozon,
the town provides an excellent base for a holiday in this lovely area. It has a long crescent south-facing beach
that ends in a pine slope, and a well-sheltered harbour full of pleasure boats raced down from England and Ireland.
As this is a peninsula, the beaches are either Atlantic-facing with excellent surfing, or more sheltered, making
them suitable for family outings - building sandcastles, or seeking out crabs and shells in the rock pools. The
natural wonders of fantastic sunsets, breathtaking sea views, beautifully clear water and bracing cliff-top walks
are plentiful in this part of Brittany. There are all types of landscape in this area from lush greenery, to expanses
of heather and pine, wild seascapes, and gently lapping waters on glorious beaches. Local crafts such as lace-making
and basket-weaving are available to see in museums in the area, as well as sites containing pre-historic relics
including standing stones.
Activities in the Area include 12 stunning beaches, boat trips out to hidden grottoes, excellent walks through
forests, along coastal paths or cliff tops, surfing, sailing, the Armorique Natural Park and Bird Sanctuary as
well as many colourful market and festive days throughout the summer with music and dancing. The main attractions
are boat trips around the various headlands, such as the Cap de la Chèvre (which is a good clifftop walk
if you'd rather make your own way). The most popular is the 45-minute tour of the Grottes (daily May-September),
multicoloured caves in the cliffs, accessible only by sea but with steep "chimneys" up to the clifftops.
Organized by two rival companies on the quay, the trips run every quarter of an hour in high season but they often
leave full, so it's worth booking a few hours in advance.
Morgat has its own little summer-only information office in its main square (June & Sept Mon-Sat 10am-noon
& 2-6.30pm; July & Aug Mon-Sat 10am-12.30pm & 2-7.30pm, Sun 4-7pm).
A flower-bedecked stone cottage near the port at 24 quai du Kador is home to 'Les Échoppes', (closed Oct-Easter),
often described as Morgat's best restaurant, which serves a soupe dégustation for €15 that's a meal in itself,
and good menus from €22. (prices as at summer 2008).
Linen is not included in the price of the rental, but can be hired for
a small extra charge - see prices below.
